LFE Approved Brunch Cocktails

We love brunch and cocktails and now you can enjoy them both together on the Low Fermentation Eating diet, designed to be SIBO and IBS friendly while promoting gut health.

 

Simple Paloma

Simple ingredients and easy to make, this cocktail is the perfect combination of tart and sweet. Garnish with a salt rim and wedge of grapefruit and/or lime for a refreshing treat.

Serving: 1 cocktail

 

Simple Paloma In glass with salt rim

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 oz tequila
  • 1/4 cup sparkling mineral water
  • 1/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • Salt for the rim of the glass
  • Ice, for serving
  • Grapefruit wedge, to garnish
  • Lime wedge, to garnish

  

Preparation

  • Salt the rim of the glass by rubbing a grapefruit wedge around the edge and dipping into a small plate of salt. 
  • Combine tequila, grapefruit juice, sparkling mineral water and lime juice.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with grapefruit and/or lime wedge.

 

GoodLFE Screwdriver 

A modern take on the classic cocktail, we swapped tangerine and lime juice for the more traditional orange to create the perfect tangy libation. The addition of a tajín rim adds a bit of zing and brings out the flavor of the citrus.

Servings: 1 cocktail

 

 

Sliced Oranges with Screwdriver Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz sparkling mineral water
  • 4 oz fresh tangerine juice
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • Tajín, for rim of the glass
  • Sprig of mint, for garnish
  • Ice, for serving

  

Preparation

  • Salt the rim of the glass with tajín
  • Combine vodka, sparkling mineral water, tangerine and lime juices
  • Serve over ice in a highball glass with a sprig of mint for garnish

 

Ginger Tea Moscow Mule 

A stronger brew of our ginger tea adds the traditional flavor for a Low Fermentation Eating approved update to the classic fizzy cocktail. Re-heat leftover ginger tea for a warm, soothing drink that is great for digestion.

Servings: 1 cocktail
Ginger Tea Moscow Mule with lime and mint

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz cold sparkling mineral water
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz ginger tea (brewed stronger)
  • 3 teaspoons simple syrup
  • Ice, for serving
  • Lime, for garnish
 Ginger Tea
  • 6" piece of ginger, sliced into 1/4" pieces
  • 1 quart water

 

Preparation

  • Simmer ginger in water over medium heat for 20-30 minutes. This version of our Ginger Tea is purposefully brewed stronger to add flavor to the Moscow Mule cocktail.
  • Let cool.
  • Combine vodka, sparkling mineral water, fresh lime juice, ginger tea and simple syrup. 
  • Serve over ice with a lime wedge for garnish.
